High-Speed Data Acquisition Systems

Configured together into a data acquisition system, the Agilent Acqiris systems deliver essential multichannel oscilloscope capabilities in a compact package. They offer a benchtop stand-alone solution to multichannel data acquisition and eliminate the need for extensive software development. A modular instrument providing a wide range of capabilities that can not be matched by monolithic instruments, its scope-like GUI has been optimized for the set-up of multiple digitizers. Incorporating innovative software to easily display, compare, store and analyze large numbers of waveforms, the software presents a simple tool for organized setup, control and acquisition from any number of digitizer channels. Users interactively manage complex experiments through a familiar multiple-windows workspace: creating new configurations, updating existing ones, visualizing any combination of signals by using simple drag-and-drop techniques, and auto-storing and analyzing acquired data by exporting the data into other software applications.

Due to the modularity of these systems, and the component nature of the Acqiris high-speed digitizers, it is possible to mix different digitizer types in the same system (8-, 10-, and 12-bit modules) and increase the size of the system over time with new modules.

AcqirisMAQS Software

By combining a number of elements and functionalities developed around Acqiris' advanced software tools into one application, AcqirisMAQS presents a simple tool for organized setup, control, and acquisition from any number of digitizer channels.

Users interactively manage complex experiments through a familiar multiple-windows workspace: creating new configurations, updating existing ones, visualizing any combination of signals by using simple drag-and-drop techniques, and auto-storing and analyzing acquired data by exporting the data into other software applications.

Autosynchronous Bus Terminations for Acqiris Digitizers

The autosynchronous bus (AS bus) bridges are used to synchronize multiple digitizer modules together, taking care of the distribution of all necessary trigger and clock signals.

Synchronous digitizing improves the accuracy of cross-channel measurements and is essential for accurate time correlation. The AS bus system can be used to phase-synchronize all digitizers to an external standard (such as a 10 MHz reference) or to improve trigger flexibility by allowing any trigger input (channel or external trigger input) to be used as the trigger source for all the other digitizers in the system. The AS bus circuit allows selected clock and trigger signals to propagate through all the connected modules. The position of each card is automatically detected, enabling the system to calibrate the individual channel timing delays, so that all the connected ADCs are clocked at the same time.

A simple software function allows the combination of the digitizers so that they appear as a single instrument with many channels.
